Well its good to be back at kura, and also good to be back with the tamariki.  It seemed like a long time - and if we take into account the tangi prior - then yes - it was a long time.

I already have concerns in the way in which it has impacted on our class - and I wanted to write this to all our parents letting everyone know, that the next 2-3 days will be devoted to pulling in our class, and getting them back on the straight line.

I had two complaints lodged regarding the behaviour of Nga Mahuri when I was away, and I did not like what I heard.  Another complaint was delivered via our tumuaki for the lack of commitment to our reo, after spending a huge amount of time trying to swing this deficiency.  

There are some consistent and rude offenders of relief teachers in Nga Mahuri, and if I have to, I will name them to parents.  

Our major focus then over the next week will be to return to the room that was going very well before the tangi.

After weighing up our situation over the past few days I wish to confirm tonight that we will not be travelling Week 7.  It is vital for us to understand that the major focal point of our kura, is educational achievement.  I cannot justify a trip, when we have had a 'enforced gap' in learning.  As it is, we will now be tested to make sure we meet our outcomes as requested by our BOT.

The putea fundraised for this trip, will now be devoted to Term 3 or 4.  In saying this, we still have three/four students with monies still to be handed in.  CAN PARENTS PLEASE GET THE RAFFLE PUTEA BACK TO THE KURA.  I wish to draw this next week.

Our next few weeks will be based around curriculum for Matariki and Mahi Mara.  Also, we have the return of Papa Chris and Whaea Sandra - so we are all happy with this, and look forward to/if both our tutors wish to commit Nga Mahuri to the Regionals and Nationals.
